Fighting for Women with Fashion
Licensed esthetician Alyson Lowe and practice manager Megan Serbin recently attended the Fighting for Women with Fashion event at the Foundation for the Carolinas. The event benefitted the Clyde and Ethel Dickson Domestic Violence Shelter and included a fashion show, raffle and silent auction. Novant Health Appel Plastic Surgery contributed to the auction.
Dr. Appel wears jeans to fight breast cancer
Dr. Appel took part in Lee Jeans' National Denim Day on October 3. Lee Jeans encourages participants to make a donation to the American Cancer Society to support breast cancer research in exchange for wearing jeans to work. Pictured with Dr. Appel is Laura Renegar, breast reconstruction patient and an ambassador for National Denim Day.

Patient commendation for Dr. Appel
James Z. Appel, MD, has been recognized as a Guardian Angel by the Novant Health Foundation at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. The Guardian Angel program allows patients to recognize kind and compassionate caregivers. Dr. Appel received an angel pin to commemorate this achievement and his name will be included on a plaque at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center.
